The latest attacks against Planned Parenthood have led to a plethora of misleading information, most of which has been proven false. The erroneous information is infiltrating mainstream and social media and it's fueling so-called 'pro-choice' Republican lawmakers who say they care about fetuses/unborn babies, yet often do little to help children once born.
These anti-choice Congress members include GOP presidential candidates, Donald Trump, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, Ben Carson, and Mark Rubio. Their focus seems to be on dismantling and controlling the reproductive rights and choices of women. That is clear by their extremist statements, recent vote, and their legal assaults upon women's rights, also known as the War Against Women.
One way the GOP feels they can control women's reproductive rights is by defunding Planned Parenthood abortions services. Only 3% of Planned Parenthood's services go towards abortions and under the Hyde Amendment, federal funds cannot be appropriated for family planning abortions.
FactCheck.org provides additional information. Ironically, Planned Parenthood services actually prevent countless, possibly millions, of abortions by preventing up to half a million unintended pregnancies per year. The federal funding goes toward the other 97% of services offered by Planned Parenthood including cancer screenings, birth control, STD screenings, and general health care for women and men.
i was not aware as i'm sure most republican and right wing opponents are not. so does it change anything in the rabid war against women that they are denying their own gender too just like the women who oppose, and why have we not heard any noise on the male pro side of this right wing effort to deprive men and women healthcare through PP if 3% abortion service reality doesn't move them not likely as long as they are well payed and can afford a private doctor for their abortion needs don't delude yourself republicans need and want and get abortions too.
with their laws letting boys be boys and raping girls who bare restricted to clothing that doesn't arouse them is it real to think there are not some unwanted pregnancies in there or adult indiscretions that can lead to same scenario??????????????
