I know the beltway media and machine Republicans are waiting for Donald Trump to take a fall and after his John McCain statements, it appeared he might be getting off the Clown Car, but in a new Economist/YouGov poll, Trump is still miles ahead of the pack, even if his favorability has dropped.
Donald Trump’s rise in the Republican contest for the 2016 presidential nomination doesn’t appear to have been slowed much – at least not yet – by the recent controversy over his criticisms of Arizona Sen. John McCain’s war record last weekend. In fact, although Trump’s favorable ratings among Republicans have declined, he is still ahead – and far ahead – when Republicans are asked to choose among the 16 currently announced candidates.
the republicans don't really want Trump to leave not so much because of his threat to go third party if "they are not nice to me" is the republican klan full of persons over 21 no adults just over 21 that is basically what they told Pres. about getting along with them "go out have a beer with Mitch McConnell, have them over for fun and games, schmooze them and take them out to dinner he's not trying to have coitus with them,
and why should anyone have to coddle and kiss up to get them to do what they are being paid for and took an oath to do but i digress i think more so because he's the only one with less double digits beneath Hillary making him their great White hope.
but they also don't want him because they would never be able to control him and he would create that fear they talk about they don't have for Pres., remember what Norquist said about Romney 2012, well he doesn't fit their mold of an ideal republican appeasing president.
