Mayor Bill de Blasio has been in office barely a year, and already forces of entropy are roaming the streets, turning their backs on the law, defying civil authority and trying to unravel the social fabric.
So begins the brilliantly ironical NYT op-ed of today regarding the NY Petulance Department. Or as the NYT characterizes it the Dept. of "sullen insubordination."
No, not squeegee-men or turnstile-jumpers. We’re talking about the cops.

If the Police Department’s current commanders cannot get the cops to do their jobs, Mr. de Blasio should consider replacing them. He should invite the Justice Department to determine if the police are guilty of civil rights violations in withdrawing policing from minority communities. He should remind the police that they are public employees, under oath to uphold city and state laws.
spot on, these guys have gone to far years ago now that the free ride is coming to an end they try to hostage our security, reminds me of Cheyney/Bush admin telling us only they can protect us and keep us safe from Islamic Muslims and sharia law and if we don't allow them to invade Iraq they can't be responsible. the police are saying we can't question their tactics because they are protecting us against Black menaces, you know like you buying a cigarette on the corner from the Black big scary criminal who made .75 cents at best per cigarette

they've blamed cigarette taxes and everything else on Eric Garners killing except those cops who actually did kill him. each and every death at the hands of cops lately is not the fault of the one who ended to life but any and everything else, how do you trust and respect those who would do that and ignore and decry their boss when they call out them with truth and reality that in itself is denying the truth and by default lying about it's existence.
