Every other developed nation is more pro-family than the U.S. when it comes to this

Shows weeks of paid maternity leave guaranteed in more than 30 countries (mostly OECD), with the US the only one with no paid leave guaranteed.

This is ... embarrassing, on an international level. But at the level of American lives, it's awful and sad. It's a sign of our lawmakers'—lawmakers of one party in particular—contempt for working women and for families. The United States is uniquely bad among developed nations:
Compared to other rich nations in the OECD group, America’s outlier status is stark: the UK guarantees 39 weeks of paid leave for mothers, two of which are mandatory. Australia offers 18 weeks. And Mexico, the US’s neighbor to the south, gives mothers 12 weeks of paid leave, reimbursed at 100 percent of their salary. [...]
In the US, paid parental leave is considered a benefit provided by employers. Yet, only 12 percent of workers reported having such coverage in 2013, according to an estimate from the Bureau of Labor Statistics National Compensation Survey.
That means many parents—which, realistically, means mothers—are forced to choose between giving up income or finding, and paying for, child care starting when their children are teeny tiny babies. It's a terrible choice that comes directly out of terrible policymaking, and it's consistent with America's failure to guarantee paid sick leave, to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, and so many other policies that would help workers and that are common among peer countries. And Republicans, of course, are committed to keeping it this way.
note all the above are thing Pres. has worked toward and republicans have railed against yet they still tell us these very same things are what they care about and will pursue it's two faced bald faced lying, try and remember if you actually heard any republican say any more than the words of the idea and entered into the "we got a plan" stage, no because again what they accuse ;Pres. of being planless is what exactly is their problem.  listen close all they claim interest in and will do is everything Pres. said first they have nothing new but try to sell his plans as theirs but can't elaborate because all they have is his plan but they don't have the path to get there.

they criticized everything he was doing for us calling them failures before implemented and still referring to them as failures after they've proven winning strategies, i know some are not feeling the joy but you have republicans to blame for that.  Keystone 41,000 temp jobs 35 permanent instead of Pres.'s jobs bill employing millions we don't see a drop of that filthy ooze but note the 41,000 figure is recent they had to abandon the old argument because they knew it was not for us but for Canada and oil billionaires like Koch's, we get nothing from this except the living in fear of leaking which it is proven it does.  also republicans are not on your side you get no cut but you do get to worry yourself God forbid not to death by Keystone.  get richer scam and we are the marks
