Red Lobster spokesman Mike Bernstein told The Huffington Post in an email that the company is "extremely disturbed" by the situation and is currently investigating to determine exactly what happened.
"We take this extremely seriously," he wrote. "This kind of language is completely disgusting and has no place in our restaurant or anywhere else, and we are committed to getting to the bottom of what happened as quickly as possible."
Bernstein also debunked the Daily Mail's report that Jenkins had been suspended, saying she has not lost a single day of work so far and is still scheduled to work this week as usual.

A server working at a Red Lobster restaurant in an affluent suburb of Nashville, Tennessee claims she was subjected to a racist jibe after customers allegedly left the words 'none ni**er' in the tip section of the check.
Toni Christina Jenkins, who is 19, was in the middle of her shift at the seafood restaurant in Franklin and serving a couple of customers who racked up a $45 bill during their afternoon meal.
When the time came to pay the check, Miss Jenkins, who is training to be a nurse, says she found the racist insult written on the couple's receipt.
Now comes word that Red Lobster has suspended her for posting the receipt:
She showed the receipt to her manager, who told her she was innocent and did not deserve the abuse. However, the restaurant suspended her on full pay after she posted the bill on her Facebook profile.
It's not the first time restaurant chains have disciplined workers after sharing controversial receipts online. In February, an Applebee's franchisee fired an employee after she posted a receipt showing a pastor stiffing a coworker on a tip on Facebook. Thousands pledged to boycott the chain after the company backed the franchisee and customer in a Facebook post. Meanwhile, Papa John’s fired a worker in Jan. 2012 after a customer tweeted a photo of a receipt with a racial slur typed on it.
red lobster enjoys a diverse clientele given it happened in TN. maybe not that diverse we have seen similar incidents in other states i remember at least one took the side of it's employees and not it's racist patron, i thought that very brave given where it was sorry i don't remember where. others went with the racist customer IMO stupid appeasing a racist whose money would not equal that of offended patrons who did not want to do business with those kinds of bigots.
does it make a difference who you buy food from racist or not yes it does those who fit that shoe get emboldened and continue the discrimination and the beat goes on hit that place where it hurts in the cash register and attitudes become more respectful and your business thrives through a variety of customers instead of having a reputation not as inviting.
