House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy dropped out of the race to succeed Speaker John Boehner last week, shocking the hell out of an already bedraggled GOP. The Tea Party supporting Freedom Caucus, who tortured Boehner throughout his term as Speaker, is obviously responsible for McCarthy's demise. Rumor is the conservative wing of the Republican party will be holding tryouts for the new speaker. Good luck!
Paul Lyin Ryan is the choice de jour but did he pull off a not so thinly veiled plan to get out of the job nobody wants by putting conditions on acceptance to the 3rd highest position in this gov't????? if so it will be interesting if they bite and say okay than he is in that proverbial corner and the paint isn't dry yet. his demands which is exactly what they are makes him bullet proof and positioned to not have to put in the time required to do the job. so what are republicans all 4 branches gonna do cave or move on?????????
