The White House on Friday night is splashed with rainbow-colored lights to celebrate a Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage around the country.
The light display capped a day of jubilation over the decision at the executive mansion.
President Obama hailed the ruling Friday morning, saying in the Rose Garden justice has arrived “like a thunderbolt” for gay and lesbian couples.
“Today, we can say in no uncertain terms that we have made our union a little more perfect," Obama said.White House aides gathered on the North Lawn on Friday evening to view the lights, and over 100 onlookers watched from Pennsylvania Avenue.
i was just wondering with this landmark historical advancing of America will republicans no longer seek the WH because they feel Pres. has sullied and permanently damaged it by showing his pride in American exceptionalism in batting down hate and bigotry and excepting Americans as fellow Americans, i mean we can hope they will can't we /s. so far no reporting's of republican hair on fire or the fabric of traditional marriage unraveling any more than before ummm guess it was just another in a long list of lies by republican bigots.
