Fox News' go-to technology expert, Kurt "CyberGuy" Knutsson, shocked Fox & Friends host Heather Childers when he explained that a recently-revealed Chinese hack of U.S. government data gave Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton a "really good reason" to use a private email server.
Last week, President Barack Obama's administration said that it suspected that a hack originating in China had compromised millions of government employee records.
Knutsson told Childers on Sunday that U.S. government cyber security was "just plain old sloppy at this point."
"The antiquated environment of the computers inside the government are what people inside the government are saying that are simply not up to date," Knutsson explained. "It was just, candy store is open for any hacker to come in."
According to the self-described CyberGuy, data thieves would be able to use the stolen data to "manipulate top-level people inside of the government, [from] faking email to understanding where they're going to be at certain times based on pattern."
"So maybe not a good idea to use a private server as well," Childers said, taking a shot at Clinton's use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state.
"This would be a very good reason to use a private server!" Knutsson replied. "Because you can't trust our own federal government to maintain the data!"
this to me comes off as the cyber guy trying to argue every point in the pro and than in the con in the same breath. standard for Fox persons as they are literally confused and trying to lie, mislead and misinform all in one statement just doesn't make sense and IMO some of them realize that in mid stream and that's when the mumble jumble starts. expert report or testimony has become an oxymoron and wasted money by those who buy that experts opinion, does republican autopsy report ring a bell???
i don't know what Hillary was thinking when she opted for personal server but i doubt it was gov't server's gonna get hacked by China. looks like Fox isn't the only one.
