R&B singer John Legend is talking a hard line against discrimination and standing up for LGBT and women's rights this week:
“John Legend will not be attending the LA Confidential party … in light of the horrific anti-women and anti-LGBT policies approved by the hotel’s owner, the Sultan of Brunei,” Legend’s publicity representative Amanda Silverman told the Hollywood Reporter. “These policies, which among other things could permit women and LGBT Bruneians to be stoned to death, are heinous and certainly don’t represent John’s values or the spirit of the event.” Legend often voices his opinions on social justice and civil rights on Twitter, commenting passionately and engaging with other users.this is encouraging to see so many people coming out against the bigotry that has been the air we breathe for centuries and has permeated every walk of life there are less than before but more coming out of the woodwork being more emboldened i think this new surge of the intolerable ones begin in Nov. 2008 with republicans sitting in that proverbial backroom closed door meeting that i still see as a plan to over throw the duly elected Pres. and the gov. that he was elected to captain it used to be called treason.
are they not trying to overthrow him and his policies, and are we not technically at war and by their leaking info and trying to force Pres. into giving up his strategy and plans to deal with our enemies and trying to usurp the authority of the office of the Pres. by going to foreign countries bad mouthing and lying about this admin. we need to be strong especially since some of our elected Dems are not it's our butts trust yourself to take care of it.
people on the right and some of us make light of Pres. and promise of change well take a look around, also remember two things he said, "yes we can" not yes i can and "we are the change we've been waiting for "WE" recognize there are no free rides we have fought and struggled for everything tomorrow on is no exception
