The Media In 2014 By The Numbers

http://mediamatters.org/research/2014/12/31/the-media-in-2014-by-the-numbers/201950

2014 was a year of eye-popping media numbers, from millions of dollars' worth of coverage devoted to a trumped-up scandal to mere seconds devoted to historic news. Here are some of the most important -- and most surprising -- figures from the year.
this is where biased media fails the viewers and shows us it's not about dispensing the news fair or balanced but about the top floor bottom line.  those who choose what is deserving of your attention are conspiring to influence you in a way you would not go if you were aware of the whole unedited story. this was a plan hatched by the republican Pres. Nixon and Fox elite Rodger Ailes to control what you hear thereby influencing how you vote.

Benghazi coverage
124,000,000: The Dollar Value Of Fox News' Benghazi Coverage Over One Two-Week Period.
Fox News' coverage went into overdrive following House Speaker John Boehner's (R-OH) May 2 announcement that Republicans would form a select committee to further investigate the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya. A Media Matters study found that the publicity values of Fox's weekday coverage in the two weeks following the announcement were valued at more than $124 million dollars, a significant public relations boon for the GOP. 16: The Number Of Minutes Fox News Devoted To A Benghazi Select Committee Hearing, After Investing Years To Creating The Committee.
Fox News spent only 16 minutes on the second hearing of the Benghazi Select Committee in December. Fox had spent the previous two years devoting significantly more coverage -- over 1000 segments -- to the terrorist attacks, and their coverage was a key driver for the committee's formation in 2014, a fact which network contributors bragged about at the time. ever realize you find yourself thinking Benghazi that's because you heard it so much like that song you can't get out of your head.  i'm interested in how much time they've spent on it since said committee of theirs found nothing implicating Pres. or his admin. oh the republicans did come out and say their own committee was lying, how many minutes did that take?
