McConnell: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.
Now if you remember when that was said what was going on:
1] A near total meltdown of the banking sector and the economy in free-fall resulting in unemployment, foreclosures etc.
2] Embroiled in Iraq and Afghanistan with no end in sight
3] About 50 million Americans with no health insurance.
4] Immigration was an issue then as it is now.
5] Climate change, by far the most important in the long run
Many of us said then that no matter what you do Mr President they will just say No, I always assumed he knew it in his heart, but as with most of us you just have to give it a try.
So I am happy he has finally dropped the pretense that bipartisanship is possible or even likely and has resorted to targeted mockery.
"You hear some of them ... 'Sue him! Impeach him!" Obama told backers in Austin, Texas, imitating his critics. "Really? Really? For what? You're going to sue me for doing my job?"In reply to:
"Listen, this is a problem of the president's own making," Boehner said, his voice rising. "He's been president for five and a half years! When's he going to take responsibility for something?"
This statement by John Boehner is the most ridiculous thing said by a Republican leader since 2008 and to do that you really
Now if reality decided to pay a visit to the US it would be "we the people" suing the Republican Party for vandalism and dereliction of duty. When a mere 7 % have confidence in congress this shows that you really have failed "we the people" in all senses of the word.
One can only assume that this level of destruction in the confidence in all branches of government is deliberate since the current theme emanating from the Republican Party is "we hate gubbmint", and they will sue anyone trying to subvert this intentional vandalism. have to go some.Pres. IMO is not working from a pretense of bipartisanship I think he really believed that supposedly intelligent people who presumably know right from wrong morally when faced with the truth would do the right thing except the right wing thing is their right thing and it is not inclusive of morality or American citizens. none the less at least half will willingly follow and cheer for their own demise by those the think are on their side.
G W Bush "you can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the ones you want to concentrate on".
