Should vulnerable Democratic incumbents in Republican-leaning districts run from President Barack Obama? The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza did a good job of explaining the futility of the strategy in his Tuesday post, “Memo to Democrats: Running from Barack Obama Won’t Work.”There is an alternative, though in all likelihood few Democrats running in swing states or districts have considered it seriously: Run toward the president. And even though it may sound like political suicide, the strategy has been deployed with success in the past.
i feel it is suicide for the party and it's elements to run from Pres. because of ObamaCares, those in red states that think they should run are no better than their republican counterparts being there,
if they don't show solidarity for the party it sends a message of divided and not stable enough to continue in office making republican with all that baggage look more appetizing to those who vote with a fickle finger.
At this stage in the 2014 cycle, it doesn’t look as if any vulnerable Democrats are close to employing the same strategy, even though Obama isn’t nearly as unpopular now as Bush was at the time. The last Gallup poll had Obama’s job rating at 41 percent approve/52 percent disapprove.Still, it’s difficult to imagine Obama posing side-by-side on the steps of Air Force One with Democratic Reps. Ron Barber or Ann Kirkpatrick after touching down in Arizona. Even though the strategy worked for Reichert and Wilson, some Republican strategists would like to see vulnerable Democratic officeholders embrace the president.
if they don't come together they are telling voters that the two time elected Pres. and all he's done inspite of 5 years of obstruction and destruction is not supported within the party what are those Progressive voters to do jump party i don't think so i think those politicians will be viewed as spineless DINO's, that only seek reelection for the perks not to serve their constituents, if they were they would support party line agenda and the Pres.
if you want to be elected stick with your party not nothing which if you don't and don't support republicans you are supporting nothing and are not needed to warm a seat on our dime. is real patriotism dead?
