One thing that all of us should agree on is how tough things must be for our veterans. It’s not easy to be a soldier, to go to war in another country, to kill people both guilty and, inevitably, innocent. To be shot at and bombed. We should also recognize that having done these things and served under the intense stress of combat, many veterans may feel guilt for things they’ve done or suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Most of us understand this. But not Kenneth Copeland and pseudo-historian David Barton.
Dissing Veterans on their day.
On Veteran’s Day, the two decided that they would “help” with the problem of PTSD on the Believer’s Voice of Victory program. How? By citing the Bible, of course. Because every American in the military is an evangelical Christian — or should be, they think — so this passage from Numbers, Chapter 32 should erase the problem altogether:
20 And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the Lord to war,
21 And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the Lord, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,
22 And the land be subdued before the Lord: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the Lord.
Just get rid of it — simple, right?
