Immigration reform has lingered on the steps of the House of Representatives for almost two months, and its future is definitely … indefinite. While the Senate was able to pass a comprehensive immigration bill with a super majority, the likelihood of comprehensive reform in the House is low at best. Instead earlier this month it was reported numerous House majority leaders, including Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), are looking to adopt a piecemeal approach. While topics like border security and a pathway to citizenship are very important provisions, there are a few important, albeit less sexy, provisions that will have an enormous impact on our nation, and are at risk of falling by the wayside. The biggest of these is the increase of H-1B work visas and a set of new visas for foreign students and immigrants with a mastery of professions under the STEM category. If Congress does not pass visa reform it would be disastrous for the basic fabric of the U.S. economy, causing economic growth, education, and innovation to all stagnate.
the congress is only interested in putting a firewall up and delay this immigration bill it's more about if they do they will be feeding the voter rolls of progressives and with 2016 around the corner they will do all they have done before to block voters as well as not do anything to bolster it, because they know they have pissed the Hispanics off as well as every other American.
n America today, the poor are, for all intents and purposes, entirely disenfranchised. They have no say in which candidates are nominated by either political party and, as such, are given no real choice. The wealthy vet those whom they believe to best represent their interests, leaving the rest of us with zero candidates to choose from that represent our interests. So while I sincerely applaud everyone who is fighting for fairness and justice, I believe their energies to be misplaced. No matter how much time, effort, and money liberals and progressives pump into their respective “causes,” they will never achieve their goals so long as moneyed interests control the political process.
there is light at the end of this ride we beat right wing and their money twice now they will get smarter this time but the one thing that counters that is who they are backing. they have systematically alienated every voter block and their own who seem to gullible to know they have voted for another trip to hell and they are looking forward to the trip.
any candidate they might bring up out of the multiples that will try has already shown his hold card trying to get the primary vote fortunately they are subject to us again after their primary third time can be the charm and the keys to the House of Representatives.
