Grimm’s campaign list sent out the fundraising call on Thursday with the subject line “Oppose Military Action in Syria.”
Today, I decided to withdraw my support from President Obama’s proposal for a military strike against Syria. I have heard from many of you in Staten Island and Brooklyn, and it is clear to me that their is strong opposition to the strike. As your voice in Washington, I will continue to listen and take a stand for you. Will you stand with me in opposing President Obama’s plan with a donation of $25 or more right now? When President Obama first announced his plan for strikes against the Syrian government for its alleged use of chemical weapons, my first reaction as a Marine combat veteran was to support immediate, targeted strikes. I now believe that the opportunity for such action has passed.President Obama has failed to show strength at this critical moment in time. While the debate in Congress continues, our nation’s credibility grows weaker and weaker. After much deliberation and prayer, I have decided to withdraw my support. I do not feel that our country has enough to gain by moving forward with this attack.Stand with me today with a donation of $25 or more to strongly oppose military action in Syria.Thank you for your support,Michael Grimm
no shame if you see a dollar run after it no matter how superficial it makes you look, get the money.
another they were for it before they were against it, what happened in between you ask, the Pres. embraced the red line euphemism and now they are backing away leaving him swinging i the breeze bad reference all alone on the strike plan. a friend asked mu opinion an hour ago i honestly can argue both sides, the moral indecency of killing children and others by choice needs to be stopped, we are not the world police contrary to popular belief, we can't police ourselves let alone the world, it drains us completely.
this is a civil war of generations, it's naive to think we who are so good domestically/snarc can save anyone. the argument of "what after" is becoming more relevant to me, they will not take it laying down, full strike releases toxins across the middle east, i told my friend i think Pres. should go on TV and say he thought he would have more support for lives loss regardless to where, although that'strue most Americans can't handel the truth when it's them that are unable.
we are not capable of being to worlds guardians, republicans keep talking about spending this would be good spending but for who, do we really know who's who and who isn't in this melee, i guess i think we should just say after further thought we have no idea what might arise from out involvement, and we'll continue humanitarian aid.
