Article PhotoHouse Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is rumored to be retiring after the 2014 mid-term elections. That may explain the suddenly shocking rumors coming from Washington that he may skip a House vote on Syria, according to National Review Online. Congressional aides indicate that whip counts show the vote being too close for comfort, and that the vote may not happen if it is deemed to close to call.
what is this thing they bhave where he refuses to bring our laws to a fast and fair debate he is and has been depriving us of legislation because he thinks he can't depose it with enough of his people voting to do so.  aside from the biggie JOBS what else have we been denied because they didn't have the votes to kill it?  2014 should be coming into focus now.
Boehner came out this week in support of President Obama's plan for Syria, despite heavy opposition from the American electorate. I'm writing this article to ask you to contact your representatives and tell them you want a vote, and I will tell you how to make it happen.
i can understand Boehner's wanting to retire the T-Party has made him the most ineffectual speaker probably in history.  he seems to have wanted to do the right thing when in talks with Pres. he would agree shake hands hit the revolving door of republican interest and return within hours with a no can do T-P won't go for that.
The support of congressional leaders for a strike that the public is screaming in unison to stop has placed members of the House in a particularly difficult quandary. On one hand, they are hearing loudly from constituents across America that if they vote to strike, they risk a real possibility of losing in the upcoming mid-terms. On the other, they have the speaker, minority and majority whips telling them that need to vote in favor of the president's plan to show a unified government.
wait a minute, we have screamed and let it be known we didn't want most of what the republicans propose that never made any difference they were still out there saying "what the American people want...." so now it's a point of consideration why because it's 13 months till their fate is sealed and they get to do nothing all over again?
