We live in an inherently patriarchal and misogynistic society, yet these struggles have not always been the overarching reality for Muslim women. "Muslim women, during the Golden Age of Islam, did practice the recitation. And in fact, they [Muslim women] were teachers of many of the great scholars of our heritage," Ahmad explained.

Hello, just thinking middle east men notorious for lack of women's rights, hmmmm republicans notorious for trying to take women's rights, right to choose,equal pay,denigrate them in porn showing full body, wonder why men don't "a little shy maybe" or fear of being laughed at can't really condemn them when you are so similar? i think it's time for a women Pres. not of republican dissent they vote against their own agenda a appease the males of their org. by keeping quiet and not standing up against the war on them, and the starvation and lack of good education for children, no abortions, voter suppression, just recall all the things you know the republicans are against and for that's what republican women are for too.
